Thank you for
checking in on us. New Orleans is doing well and moving forward. The
economy has slowed us down slightly and I must emphasize slightly.
The tourist
and conference areas, restaurants, music venues and support/service
providers are back one hundred percent!
To book your
conference or meetings in New Orleans please visit the
NOCVB
website. (New
Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau)
Our
residential areas are still rebuilding and many are doing very well
while others are struggling.
Our city hall
.... well, unfortunately, many areas of New Orleans city government are
in disarray. A great source for local information comes from
Mark Singletary and
Greg LaRose (Commentary and Editor's Notes) of
New
Orleans City Business. I highly recommend reading Mark Singletary’s
weekly commentary … also, to go through the archives and find past
articles. Mr. Singletary is generally insightful on what problems exist
and how to update and correct the problems from an ethical, business and
“what is best for the City of New Orleans” perspective.
The tourist,
business and majority of residential areas are as safe in New Orleans as
any large city in the USA. Please be cautious, careful, as you would in
any large city, and visit us soon.
When visiting
highlights are: Nightly Jazz at Houston’s Restaurant, 1755 St. Charles
Ave., Jazz at the Palm Court & Preservation Hall in the French Quarter.
A walk or buggy ride through the Quarter, lunch and dinner at our many
famous restaurants (all listed on this website), the Zoo, Aquarium and
our new insectarium. City Park has opened the North Course (Golf) and is
making upgrades like you wouldn’t believe … there is a new path and pond
improvements at the main entrance (City Park and Esplanade), a Dog Park
(City Bark) that is under construction and many other exciting
improvements.
We are here
and can’t wait to have you visit, bring your conference, convention or
meeting here, get married with a
Jazz Wedding,
visit again with your children and even move and stay here! We hope to
see you soon.
Best regards,
David Hansen

Hello and thank you for visiting the New Orleans Jazz
site. We certainly appreciate all the emails and support from all our
friends worldwide.
Right now all we can say is what a mess! We will
rebuild and move forward in the city we love and we are trying our best
to get through this tremendously tough situation as best as possible.
Many of the bands we book are available, so please email or call us
for details. Many bands and band members are still scattered throughout
the country in Houston, Atlanta, Memphis, San Francisco, Chicago,
Seattle and other locations. A number are still in the surrounding New
Orleans area and are beginning to perform!
As of February, 2006
I have a trio performing at the Gulfstream Restaurant, 1755 St. Charles
Avenue.
As of May, 2006 The Creole Queen is now scheduling the regular dinner jazz cruises and we are
performing from 7:00 to 10:00pm as needed.
Please let us know if there are any performances out of town that we
can book a band for. I am trying my best to keep New Orleans musicians
working and performing and all bands are available to fly for
performances worldwide.
