Jazz is not always easy to fit into stylistic categories. Many Artists cross over from one style to another. (Bands are listed below)

For currently performing musicians on our website you will find:

1. Traditional, Dixieland or Early Jazz - Period from 1916 into the 1930's.
2. Big Band / Swing - Period from the late 1920's to 1950's.
3. Contemporary, Modern, Bebop - Period from the late 1940's into the late 1960's.
4. Vocal jazz - covers all stylistic periods. The most common are New Orleans (traditional/Dixieland jazz) and classic jazz standards to modern.

Big Band, Swing includes many current performing Artists from New Orleans who perform in the style or have been influenced by the styles from this time period.

Internationally known Artists of these styles include:
Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glen Miller, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima and hundreds of others.
