Jazz is not always easy to fit into stylistic categories. Many Artists cross over from one style to another. (Bands are listed below)

For currently performing musicians on our website you will find:

  1. Traditional, Dixieland or Early Jazz - Period from 1916 into the 1930's.
  2. Big Band / Swing - Period from the late 1920's to 1950's.
  3. Contemporary, Modern, Bebop - Period from the late 1940's into the late 1960's.
  4. Vocal jazz - covers all stylistic periods. The most common are New Orleans (traditional/Dixieland jazz) and classic jazz standards to modern.

Big Band, Swing includes many current performing Artists from New Orleans who perform in the style or have been influenced by the styles from this time period. Internationally known Artists of these styles include: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glen Miller, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble and hundreds of others.

Full production available including: Stage, Lighting, Sound-P/A & Back-line.

Featured Artist: The New Orleans Garden District Orchestra www.NOGDO.com

This 14 to 20 piece group has over 3000+ stock and custom arrangements from the 1930's through the 1950's. This is most certainly one of the biggest Big Band/Swing library collections in the New Orleans region. Many of the arrangements have vocal and string (violin, viola) parts. These songs were all written for fox trot/swing dance tempos and sound incredible. The NOGDO performs for multiple Mardi Gras Balls every year as well as private weddings and corporate events. The trio ... Garden District Trio, performs seven nights a week at Houston's Restaurant located at 1755 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130. The NOGDO and Hansen Music Productions, LLC has also contracted many horn and rhythm sections for national "name" bands coming into our region to perform in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast for Casino's and theater/show rooms.
